It all started when…
My first experience of competing in a running event was the London Marathon, way back in 1997. After a long break I picked up with the sport again about 10 years ago, but this time trail running. First it was a half, then full marathons and now I’ve clocked up a couple of ultra’s.
My love for running the trails has grown and grown, rain or shine, summer or winter the countryside is the perfect place to keep fit and enjoy the company of others.
About 3 years ago we moved to Tenantary farm, near Rockbourne, close to the boarders or Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset. I was amazed at the wonderful running this location offered; wide open farmland with huge skies, to secret sunken paths shaded by ancient trees, this area is stunning. Steeped in history (we have a Roman villa in Rockbourne) and far from any major road or town you are free to enjoy the rolling countryside and charming villages as you run.
Tenantary Farm has provided me with a wonderful opportunity to stage trail running events, not only is its location just perfect, 15 minutes south of Salisbury, but it also affords wonderful facilities whilst retaining its secluded rural charm. Farmed for the past 40 years by the McLeod family, it mainly produces arable crops, but for decades has hosted equine events, festivals, wedding and camping. In the centre of the farm the old dairy building provides loo’s, showers a large grass field for camping and plenty of indoor space for functions.
